Hills, cypresses, medieval villages, wheat fields as far as the eye can see. And then olive groves and vineyards that produce Brunello and other fine Tuscan wines.

The oldest extinct volcano in Italy in Italy, Monte Amiata rises to the west marking the border of this beautiful valley.

Here are some of the most beautiful villages you must visit: the romantic Pienza, the ideal city for the Renaissance, Radicofani and its fortress, the cypresses of San Quirico d’Orcia. Also Castiglione d’Orcia and Montalcino with its refined Brunello. San Giovanni d’Asso, where you can also taste the white truffle, Bagno Vignoni, famous for its suggestive thermal baths in the town square, and Bagni San Filippo, where the water rises from the heart of the volcano.

Here you can enjoy exciting excursions on foot or by bike, you can take fantastic photos of the most iconic views and fully enjoy the wonder of the Tuscan landscape that surrounds us.

From our bed and breakfast you will reach Pienza in a few minutes.

Pienza is the ideal city wanted by Pope Pius II, a small jewel nestled in the Tuscan hills. Its splendid square, its Renaissance buildings rich in history and art, the narrow streets and romantic panoramic views overlooking the Val d’Orcia make it unique.

Even the surroundings of the town offer great surprises, you can in fact come across glimpses of famous films such as the gladiator or in the splendid Chapel of Vitality, the small church with cypresses that you have surely seen in postcards.

Located a stone’s throw from our bed and breakfast, the beautiful town of Montepulciano is an elegant Renaissance village that stands on a hill between Val d’Orcia and Valdichiana.

Visiting Montepulciano will make you fall in love in an exciting journey through history, tradition and wine.

The heart of the city is located in Piazza Grande, framed by the splendid Renaissance palaces and the Duomo. Piazza Grande was chosen as a film set by internationally renowned directors and in the summer it becomes the main stage for the most important events such as the International Art Site, the Poliziano Bruscello, Calici di Stelle and the Braccio delle Botti.

We recommend a walk along the course between artisan shops and historic cellars dug into the rock, noble palaces and churches.

Also worth visiting is the ancient fortress which today houses the headquarters of the Consorzio del Vino Nobile and the suggestive wine shop. At the foot of the town, outside the walls, you will be delighted by the beauty of the Temple of San Biagio, a unique and magical place.

Obviously we are in the land of Vino Nobile, an excellent wine that you can taste in the wine bars and restaurants of the town but also in the excellent cellars scattered among the vineyards around the village.
